Some Facts

I like to draw. Painting is great, too. And, I do make candles (with my stunning sister – Arlene). They were featured in a bunch of stuff and a little bit ago Buzzfeed couldn’t get enough of us. I used to make shirts back in the day. We sold them on Nylon Magazines’ shop and we even did Warped tour. Though now we just make them for fun.

I’m a co-host on a podcast too and run an amazing website called www.ettaarlene.com. If you are trying to get motivated and take a deep dive into your spiritual growth- give it a visit.

I published a book last year- that was fun. So, I guess I’m a writer. Cool.

Now, About This Site

This website is more about my art, not the other stuff (though they too are products of passion and I will link them all below). I am an artist. I have been and always will be. On paper, I am a certified, Bachelor Degree-holding, Graphic Designer. That’s fine. Yet, I feel deeply so much more for the thoughts and patterns that form buried in our minds, falling out in visual form on paper. I’m interested in expression and what it means to feel. I’m obsessed with connection and the idea that we are all apart of something bigger. If we could just learn to connect more, rather remove the ‘us against them’ or ‘me against you‘. I’m here for everyone.

My work is currently exploring the idea of flowing together. Think poetry in visual form. I’m using a limited palette this year and seeing how it turns out. With the idea of connection – I want all of the pieces, in the end, to connect to be something bigger together than apart.

I guess this year we can say I’m finding myself a bit with my work. When you do Graphic Design you are so used to doing what other people want. Now, I’m trying to explore what I want visually. What is my niche? What is me? I guess we’ll figure that out together. Thanks for visiting my site. 😉
